[ winn listens quietly, still looking apologetic as he's told not to apologize because he does feel bad robb had to leave - he doesn't want to exclude anyone who doesn't really deserve it, anyone who hasn't really done evil. robb did wrong, for certain - yes, he understands his circumstances now and he did apologize but no circumstances give anyone the write to treat another person poorly - but he definitely did not do evil. and it was never his intention to drag this further than just between them, but robb had no way of knowing that because winn was speaking from anger, not thought, and that's his wrong doing.
there's a flash of concern at put them to the sword - it's so quick it could easily be missed but yikes, he makes a mental note to try to keep an amicable relationship with this guy from now on and really, let kara talk to him next time if there's a next time because the last thing he needs is to get in a violent altrecation over a misunderstanding. he's not a violent man! (not that he would ever try to touch his wife's...anything. unless she needed a hand, in which case he'll touch her hand, but that's it. he also has no idea who his wife is, he looks so young to have one...god he hates westeros and the way it treats women and marriage). contrition returns to his face at the mention of the trouble it caused him - yes he did wrong, but again, winn wasn't exactly clean here, either, and he's lived his life trying to avoid making problems for anyone.
he nods and return a small smile of his own at the end. ]
I'd like that. Next time you're on the Tourist, I'll take you straight to Jim.
[To Robb it is a very simple, normal thing to put a man to the sword. If they wronged him, they should be punished. At least, that was how it was in Westeros. And Winn has barely done Robb wrong. It was just a poorly timed meeting. He hasn’t come here to play the king and parade through ships with his crown on his head.
He quite likes it to be Robb. It has been a long time since he has been able to embrace who he really was.]
I would like that as well.
[There is a sigh of relief coming from his mouth and he shifts behind the communicator.]
Well, you may speak to me as well, if I come by to see Jim. [He raises his hands.] I truly do not wish to dwell on this and make things needlessly difficult. I have left many difficulties behind, it would be folly to bring them here.
[ winn really dislikes westeros. he cares for its people, but the culture is pretty much one of the worst he can imagine. ]
This is a strictly no folly zone, so I gotta agree with you there. [ his smile turns warmer. he's much better at getting along with people. ] If you wanna come by and talk to me, I'll be happy to do that too.
[That makes Robb snort with laughter. He should remember those words. A no folly zone.]
Heh, I will remember that when great folly arises.
[Robb nods slowly at Winn’s words, still smiling. All in all he seems like a good man. Kitty has chosen wisely after all that has happened to her. May she never be forced to return home.]
I will definitely do so. [He stops nodding.] You are always welcome to stop by here as well.
[ laughter, five points! there's a hint of pride on winn's face for making him laugh. he tips his head at him, as if to say go ahead, my gift to you.
winn is doing everything in his power to make sure kitty never has to and once he has that road back to national city set up - he'll extend it to anyone who can't go back to their own home. his earth is already kind of a refuge anyway, for aliens. ]
I will, don't think I've ever been to your neck of the fleet before, I'm overdue.
[ if only to seal the end of the awkwardness. they don't have to be best friends (and really that position has been filled for winn three years ago, back home) but he does really want them to get along. ]
